Fabrication Engineer - JB Engineering, Bathgate

JB Engineering offers bespoke engineering services to some of the UK’s most important sectors, from heavy industry, which powers the UK rail network to critical finance environments such as data centres. There’s over 40 years of experience within the business.
For over 30 years, our engineers have been delivering bespoke engineering services to these sectors from our own, purpose-built premises. Our family run business prides itself on being a local employer, where some of our employees have over 20 years’ service.
To support our future growth, we are seeking a skilled Fabrication Engineer with a focus on mild steel and stainless steel. This position requires experience working with sheet metal and fabrication, including MIG and TIG welding to a high standard.
Required Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding to a high standard on bespoke projects.
- Use hand and air tools competently.
- Understand and follow instructions, developing ad-hoc solutions to immediate problems.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, adapting to the specific needs of each project.
- Occasionally work away from home as required.
Requirements:
- Time-served Fabricator/Welder with experience in mild steel and stainless steel.
- Proficiency in MIG & TIG welding.
- Ability to work from and without detailed drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to improvise when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and self-motivation.
- Full UK driving licence required.
